I am Swiss and Canadian. I live in Toronto Canada. I am a single mom, and was a freelancer for many years, working hard! I have a granddaughter who is 7 and who takes some abuse from her mom because of her disorder. I’ve been facilitating Family Connections for several years. I believe in professionals looking at the other side of the coin so that their research can be complete. I work with an organization called Sashbear (volunteer)

Definitely help with my perspective as a mother who suffered extremely with this disorder, and my daughter also suffered so much! I probably had traits too! I just didn’t have any tools to parent her properly! We cannot give to others what we didn’t receive ouraelves. And we have to be open to Change! And find the avenue for change! That’s not easy either!

• Sharing insights on families’ perspectives and how families can become a resource for patient’s recovery, when properly involved, trained and supported. • Reaching out to Italian patients’ and families’ networks, and support participants’ enrolling for possible field studies • Providing input on niche BPD patients’ groups with special therapeutic needs (e.g. male patients, low functioning patients, forensic patients…), based on personal and associations’ experience.

Research focusing on niche BPD patients’ groups (in particular: male, low functioning, forensic patients), psychotherapy compliance difficulties, BPD comorbidities (in particular: Substance Abuse, ADHD, Antisocial Personality Disorder)
