Experts by Experience (EE) and Experts by Profession (EP) research collaboration initiative
The ESSPD aims to bring together Experts by Experience (EE) and Experts by Profession (EP) to encourage close collaboration between them in the design and implementation of research in the field of Personality Disorder (PD). To this end, the ESSPD is building a research collaboration dashboard for both EE (i.e., people with lived or living experience of personality disorder, whether as patients, or as carers, supporters, and kin / family members) and EP (researchers or clinicians in the field of personality disorders). Through this dashboard, Experts by Experience interested in collaborating with researchers can describe their profile and research interests, and researchers can present their research initiatives and plans to EE.
The ESSPD explicitly encourages researchers to consistently include the perspectives of people with lived experience when designing PD-related studies. Examples of various levels of engagement include, but are not limited to, consultation on specific research activities, priority setting, active involvement within the research team, partnership and co-production.
Access to the Dashboard
The dashboard project consists of four parts.
For researchers:
If you are a researcher looking for meaningful Expert by Experience involvement in your research, you can
- publish your research proposal via the research project submission form, describing the kind of LEE involvement you are seeking, or
- browse expert profiles published on the EE expert dashboard.
For experts by Experience:
If you are an expert by experience who is interested in collaborating with researchers
- please submit your profile via the EE profile submission form. Your profile will appear publicly on the EE expert dashboard after it has been reviewed by our moderation team.
- You can also browse research projects and contact researchers via the research project dashboard.
If you have any questions or suggestions, you can contact the dashboard moderator at moderator@esspd.eu
