Cookie Policy

This website uses almost no cookies. We run no analytics, no advertising and no visitor tracking.

The only cookies set automatically are the ones needed to run the site and to remember the choice you made on our banner. There are two things we ask your permission for, and you can accept either one without the other: videos from YouTube, and our news feed from Bluesky. Neither loads anything until you say so, and you can change your mind at any time.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work the same way. Some are deleted when you close your browser, others stay for a set period.

Under EU rules we may store cookies on your device without asking only when they are strictly necessary to provide the service you requested. Everything else needs your prior consent.

Cookies we set

Necessary for the website to work. No consent required.

Cookie Purpose Duration
cmplz_banner-status Remembers that you have responded to our banner, so it is not shown again 365 days
cmplz_consented_services, cmplz_functional, cmplz_marketing, cmplz_preferences, cmplz_statistics Record which services and categories you accepted or refused 365 days
cmplz_policy_id Records which version of this policy you agreed to 365 days
PHPSESSID Keeps track of your visit while you move between pages Session
wp-postpass_... Set only if you enter the password for a protected page, so you do not have to enter it again on each visit 10 days

Board members and volunteers who sign in to manage the site also receive standard WordPress login cookies. These are never set for ordinary visitors.

Content from other websites

We ask your permission before loading these, and you can accept one while refusing the other.

Our banner groups them under Marketing, which is the standard category name for content loaded from another company. ESSPD does no marketing and runs no advertising.

Not everything listed here is a cookie. Some entries are requests your browser makes to another company, which reveals your IP address to them even when nothing is stored on your device. We list them because they affect your privacy in the same way.

Cookie or request Set by Purpose Duration
VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, YSC, VISITOR_PRIVACY_METADATA, __Secure-YEC and related storage youtube.com (Google Ireland Limited) Set when you play an embedded video. Used by YouTube to measure playback, remember preferences and, potentially, for personalised advertising Session to 6 months
Requests to public.api.bsky.app and cdn.bsky.app Bluesky Social PBC, United States Loads our latest Bluesky posts and their images on the home page. Bluesky receives your IP address and can see which page you are viewing Nothing is stored on your device, but the request is made from your browser

Videos. Videos appear as a still image with a button to accept. Nothing reaches Google until you press it. Every video can also be watched directly on YouTube under YouTube’s own terms. Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

Bluesky feed. Until you accept, you see a placeholder and nothing is requested from Bluesky. You can always read the same posts by visiting our Bluesky profile directly, without accepting anything here. Bluesky’s privacy policy: bsky.social/about/support/privacy-policy

Links are not embeds. The LinkedIn, Instagram and Bluesky links in our footer are ordinary links. They set nothing and send nothing until you click them.

What we do not use

  • No analytics or statistics cookies, and no Google Analytics
  • No advertising or retargeting networks
  • No social media tracking pixels, and no Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or X embeds
  • No Google Fonts. Our typefaces come from Bunny Fonts (BunnyWay d.o.o., Slovenia), which sets no cookies and does not log visitors
  • No Google Maps and no reCAPTCHA

Changing your mind

Use the settings link at the top of this page to change or withdraw your consent at any time, for either service separately. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal and do not show you the banner at all. You can still accept an individual video or the news feed using the button on its placeholder.

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings, usually under Settings, Privacy. Blocking all cookies may stop parts of this or any other website from working properly.

For general information about cookies, see allaboutcookies.org.
